I either get the " The downloaded file is incomplete or was corrupted. An update may be in progress. Please try again in minutes. DrakeVegas , Feb 7, MAP I vaguely remembered a "playroom map" file crapping out before I reinstalled, and since I pinpointed it in the games files, I tried to delete it so the updater would make another one that wasn't broken, but that didn't work. But at least I think I've found something. That is the exact file causing my download to fail, the exact error report I get when it does, and I have tried every solution imaginable, to no avail.
I feel a little better knowing it isn't just me. Now, granted, my computer is a senior citizen, having been purchased new back in , but in its day it was the best laptop PC money could buy. I can even run things like World of Warcraft halfway decently. This is how I knew it wasn't my machine. I do hope this is resolved soon, because I wanted to try out a Nature heroine - I never play healer much, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Miral , Feb 8, Previous Next.
Hyperlite Diamond Member. May 25, 5, 1 I'd really appreciate it if a few people could take the time to read all this Sigh-I'm pulling my hair out now. Here's the story: I'm playing EQ2 monday morning and the servers go down for an update. I patch, etc. This generally indicates that your patch was corrupted for some reason. Try a complete scan, and if that doesn't help then you may need to reinstall.
So, i was stumped, and decided to take my chances with tech support. When i attempt to delete the UI folder, i can delete all but 3 out of who knows how many files, getting the error message "Cannot read from source file or destination" or something along those lines. While i'm patching, windows starts popping up bubble messages complaining about "Corrupt Files" and they just so happened to be the files i couldn't delete.
I'm on dialup, so six hours later, all is done repatching and i still get the same error i listed above. I go back to tech support, and this guy trys to tell me its because i have eq installed on my E drive instead of my C drive Based on responses from people on the eq2 forums, i come to the conclusion that i will have to reinstall, which i was dreading from the begining. I used a few different registry cleaners and regedit to get rid of all the remaining eq2 entries and attempt to reinstall.
So it autoruns, i click "Install": Autorun and get the same error message: Error Message I've tried 3 different registry cleaners, 2 different Install CD's, and i attemted to use Install Shield X Express, but i guess it isn't really ment to be used like that, or not that i could see.
I just thad a new idea: The files which are broken in the download seem to be language files or regional association files - that's why switching EU can fix it.
The other potential fix could be to change the language! Make sure to install it in its OWN folder. Not in the LIVE server folder. Then maybe copy back the broken file to live and do Vallidate Game Assets. My suspicion by now is, that the problem might be specific to non-English language versions and has therefore escaped their sight.
If that is true, add your information and we can hope for a fix. LadyLightning , Sep 9, Montjoy , Sep 9, Montjoy , Sep 10, LadyLightning , Sep 10, How can I fix this? Hello Golddigger!
